YDTRC collaborates with youth serving networks in New Haven and across the state of Connecticut to share our resources for training, technical assistance, program planning, and special projects.
The Citywide Youth Coalition is a network of over 500 youth-serving staff, community stakeholders and individuals in the New Haven urban region. Working together to build a courageous community in which all youth can succeed.
In 1993 YDTRC was co-founded by the Citywide Youth Coalition and The Consultation Center, in response to needs expressed by grassroots groups in New Haven neighborhoods. YDTRC supports CWYC by providing training and technical assistance to youth-serving agencies, and developing best practices models and standards for youth services based on a positive youth development model. YDTRC is active in the planning and execution of CWYC events, such as the Youth Summit, the Youth Walk and other city wide events.
Norwalk Collaborative for Youth Success (NCYS)
“The Norwalk Collaborative for Youth Success is an inclusive collaborative dedicated to building capacity, improving quality, and increasing resources in the community in order to encourage and inspire life-long learning and achievement among Norwalk youth and young adults.”
Many years of interagency cooperation in Norwalk, CT among diverse agencies has led to a new three year initiative to enhance youth voice, youth-adult partnerships and youth-led action on local issues. The Perrin Family Foundation funds are fueling Norwalk’s strategic planning process.
Professional development by YDTRC staff and consultants will support NCYS member agencies as they assess individual agency efforts and strengthen their program and organizational opportunities for youth voices to be heard and recognized in Norwalk.
A practical guide to assist youth-serving agencies is underway with input from experienced agency staff and older youth leaders.
